bauma CHINA 2026 takes place 23-27 November 2026 in Shanghai. It has been held biennially since 2002 and is organised by Messe Muenchen Shanghai Co., Ltd. The sector coverage is construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines and construction vehicles.
## The 2026 Edition Changes Format — Read This Before You Book
For the first time, bauma CHINA runs across two venues rather than one. The organiser describes it as a "One Show, Two Venues" format, and the two sites do not run on identical dates:
- •Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC) — 23-26 November 2026
- •Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) — 24-27 November 2026
This detail matters more than it first appears. The two halls open on different days and close on different days. If your stand is at SWEECC, your show is over on the 26th; if it is at SNIEC, you open a day later and close a day later.
Practical consequences to plan around:
- •Crew scheduling. A single crew cannot cover both venues on the overlap days without splitting. If you exhibit at both sites, you need two teams, not one team moving between them.
- •Build and dismantle windows differ per venue. Confirm your own venue's move-in and move-out schedule from your exhibitor manual — do not assume the other venue's dates apply to you.
- •Freight consignments must be labelled per venue. Shipping everything to one address and moving it across Shanghai mid-week is a costly and avoidable mistake.
- •Visitor flow between sites. If your buyers are visiting both venues, position your messaging knowing they may reach you on day two or three of their trip, not day one.
The first thing to establish in your project is therefore simple: which venue are you in, and what are your venue's exact dates? Everything downstream depends on that answer.
## A Note on "bauma 2026"
There is no bauma in Munich in 2026. The Munich edition is triennial and next runs 3-9 April 2028. The 2026 editions of the bauma family are bauma CONEXPO INDIA in Delhi (15-18 September) and bauma CHINA in Shanghai (23-27 November). bauma SAUDI ARABIA follows in Riyadh, 8-11 May 2027.
## Designing for This Show
bauma CHINA is described by its organiser as Asia's largest and most important trade fair in its sectors. That scale creates a specific design problem: in a hall of very large stands and very large machines, ordinary stand design disappears.
What tends to work:
- •Vertical identification. In halls this size, the visitor finds you by looking up. Height and a clear identifier at height do more for footfall than anything at eye level. Check your hall's rigging and height rules first — they vary by hall class and are strictly enforced.
- •Machinery-first layout with load-bearing platforms. Confirm point-load limits in writing before finalising layout.
- •Enclosed meeting capacity. Five show days is a long time. Buyers who return for a second conversation need somewhere to sit; stands without enclosed meeting space lose those conversations to competitors who have it.
- •Bilingual content, properly done. Technical specification in Chinese and English side by side, not English with a translated header. Machine-translated technical copy reads as unserious to a technical buyer.
- •Durable surfaces. Five days of heavy traffic is harder on finishes than the usual three-day show.
## Planning Timeline
Planning windows from our own project practice for a stand opening in late November 2026 — confirm official deadlines in your exhibitor manual:
- •May-June 2026 — Space allocation, hall and venue confirmed. Design cannot start properly before you know which of the two venues you are in.
- •July 2026 — Concept design and 3D sign-off.
- •August 2026 — Technical drawings, structural calculations, venue submission.
- •September 2026 — Production, long-lead items first.
- •September-October 2026 — Freight to Shanghai with customs buffer. Sea freight requires the longest lead; build in clearance time rather than assuming it.
- •Mid-November 2026 — On-site build per your venue's move-in schedule.
- •23 or 24 November 2026 — Show opens, depending on your venue.
## Working With Us
Evreka Stand designs in Istanbul and delivers across 31 countries. For a Shanghai show, local fabrication with Istanbul-led design and an Evreka project manager on site is usually the sensible structure — the distance makes shipping heavy joinery hard to justify, while design control and single-point accountability stay with us.
We will assess whether your specific stand is a local-build or shipped-build project and tell you which before you commit budget.
## Frequently Asked Questions
When and where is bauma CHINA 2026? 23-27 November 2026 in Shanghai, across two venues: SWEECC (23-26 November) and SNIEC (24-27 November).
Why are there two sets of dates? The 2026 edition uses a "One Show, Two Venues" format. The two venues open and close on different days, so your show dates depend on which venue your stand is in.
Is there a bauma in Munich in 2026? No. Munich's next bauma is 3-9 April 2028.
How often is bauma CHINA held? Biennially, since 2002.
When should we start planning? Once your venue and hall are confirmed — realistically May-June 2026. Knowing which of the two venues you are in is the first prerequisite for any design work.
