What is a Wooden Exhibition Stand?

A wooden exhibition stand is built from MDF, plywood, laminate and solid timber panels — CNC-cut to millimeter precision and assembled bespoke for a single brand and event. Hidden lighting channels, multi-level architectural detail, premium finishes — all possible at higher fidelity than modular systems allow.

Wood is the right call when visual impact at one specific show matters more than per-event cost. Modular systems use standardized connection points; wooden stands custom-mill every piece. Higher upfront cost, but unmatched brand expression.

When to Choose a Custom Wooden Stand

Wood is not the right answer for every budget or scenario. It fits when one or more of the following hold:

Premium brand identity

Premium segment positioning — jewellery, yacht, luxury automotive, boutique tech. Wooden architecture separates you from generic profile systems.

Flagship one-off launch

Product launch, annual global congress, post-IPO debut show. Built once but built right — wood's narrative power earns its keep.

Luxury / boutique positioning

Target audience reads stand quality as a proxy for brand quality. Profile/modular reads 'budget' — wood lifts perception.

High tactile/sensory impact

When products belong with real material textures, veneered furniture, soft corners and warm finishes.

Boundary-free architectural design

Curved forms, hidden light channels, multi-level platforms, structural canopies — everything a profile system can't deliver.

FSC sustainability narrative

ESG-driven procurement or certification audit. FSC-certified timber + reuse-friendly design = a defensible sustainability claim.

Cost Breakdown — Wooden Exhibition Stand

Total wooden stand pricing lands in the €400–800/sqm range (a mid-segment 36 sqm booth: roughly €15,000–€29,000). That's 50–100% above Maxima — and you earn the architectural and premium payoff.

MDF / birch / plywood material

€60–110/sqm

Thickness and grade (FSC-certified, zero-formaldehyde). Increases with double-thick or heavy surfaces.

Carpentry & workshop assembly

€90–150/sqm

Detail cutting, edge banding, transport-joint engineering. The largest labour line on a wooden build.

CNC cut & precision milling

€30–60/sqm

Curved forms, logo engraving, recesses, mortise-tenon joins. Non-repetitive design = heavier CNC load.

Paint / varnish / lacquer finish

€30–55/sqm

Three coats primer + top coat. High-gloss lacquer costs more; matte or oil finish is more economical.

Lighting (integrated LED + spot)

€30–55/sqm

Hidden LED strips, wash, accent spots, dimmer control. Architectural lighting carries half the design.

Furniture (rental or purchase)

€20–45/sqm

Veneered meeting table, leather chairs, vitrines. Selected to match the stand's narrative.

Carpet / parquet / vinyl floor

€12–30/sqm

Vinyl plank or solid wood flooring over generic carpet — completes the premium effect.

Install + freight + storage

€40–80/sqm

Wooden parts are bulky, install runs 3–5 days. Leftover assemblies incur monthly storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a wooden exhibition stand?

A wooden exhibition stand is built with MDF, plywood, laminate and natural timber panels — CNC-cut to millimeter accuracy and assembled bespoke for a single brand and event. Premium look, customization freedom and durability that pre-engineered modular systems cannot match.

What does a wooden stand cost?

Wooden exhibition stands typically start at €350-650/m² (indicative). Final cost depends on finish (lacquer, veneer, foil), lighting, technical integration and size. Free 3D quote on request.

Wood vs modular — which to choose?

Wood: premium look, single-event maximum impact, full customization. Modular: reusable, fast install, lower per-event cost. Wood wins for brand launches and high-visibility shows; modular wins for frequent multi-show participation.

Is wood sustainable?

We use FSC-certified timber. All panels are recyclable; modular joinery enables disassembly and reuse. Suitable for sustainability-required events (COP, EU venues, UNFCCC pavilions).

Build timeline for wooden stand?

Design 1-3 weeks + production 3-5 weeks + on-site install. Recommended start: 6-8 weeks before show. Accelerated options available.
