Two different buyers land on this page. One is exhibiting at a Turkish fair and needs a local contractor. The other is exhibiting in Germany, France or the Gulf and is asking whether it makes sense to have the stand built in Turkey and shipped. The second question is the one worth answering properly, because the honest answer is “usually yes, with three conditions.”

The cost structure is genuinely different, not a discount. Skilled joinery, metalwork and printing all cost less here than in Western Europe, and that is a structural feature of the economy rather than a promotional rate. It is why European brands have been producing here for decades in furniture, textiles and shopfitting. On a custom stand the saving is meaningful enough to absorb the freight and still come out ahead.

The customs position is better than most people assume. Turkey is in a customs union with the EU for industrial goods, which keeps documentation for a European build lighter than shipping the same stand from further east. Combined with road access — Germany, Italy and France are a few days by truck — it makes Turkey unusually well placed as a production base for European shows.

The Gulf is closer than it looks from a map. Sea freight to Jeddah and onward by road to Riyadh, or direct to Dubai, is a well-worn route for us. The constraint on Gulf projects is almost never the shipping; it is the destination paperwork, and that has to be started far earlier than exhibitors expect.
