ITB Berlin 2027 runs 16-18 March at Messe Berlin, organised by Messe Berlin GmbH. It is the world's largest travel trade show, and the single most useful thing to understand about it is that ITB is a meeting fair, not a display fair.

The brief is a number of tables, not a size of logo

At most fairs the stand's job is to attract a passing visitor. At ITB almost nothing is passing. Buyers, tour operators, DMCs and hotel groups arrive with a pre-booked schedule, moving from appointment to appointment across three trade days. Your stand is where those appointments happen.

That makes the design brief unusually concrete: how many simultaneous meetings do you need to hold, how private does each need to be, and how do you keep a meeting running when the next party arrives early. A stand that seats eight when your team booked twelve concurrent slots will cost you meetings, no matter how good it looks from the aisle.

Work backwards from the appointment book. Count the busiest hour, add one table, and design from there.

Privacy is the feature people pay for and forget to ask for

Tourism deals involve rates, allocations and commercial terms that nobody wants the neighbouring stand to hear. Fully enclosed meeting rooms are expensive in floor area; the practical middle ground is acoustic separation — height, soft surfaces, and orientation so two tables do not face each other. A stand with four semi-private tables usually beats one with two closed rooms and two exposed ones.

Why Turkish exhibitors are here

Turkey is one of the world's most visited destinations, and ITB is where European and long-haul programmes get set. Destination authorities, hotel groups, DMCs, transfer and excursion operators all exhibit, often within a national pavilion. If you are inside a pavilion, your build is usually decided for you and the useful conversation is about what the standard unit does not include — a lockable store, a second table, better lighting on your display wall.

Our honest position on this fair

If you are exhibiting inside the national pavilion and your meeting load is light, you probably do not need us at all — take the standard unit. We are worth talking to when you are taking your own space, when your appointment book has outgrown the pavilion allocation, or when you need the stand to say something a shell scheme cannot.
