TOKYO PACK 2026 takes place 14-16 October at Tokyo Big Sight, using East Halls 1-3, 7 and 8. Organized by the Japan Packaging Institute, it is Asia's most established packaging exhibition — and the market with the most exacting standards for what an exhibition stand should be.

Japanese finish standards are the real specification

In Japan, a visible seam, a slightly misaligned panel or a scuffed edge is not a minor defect; it is information about your company. Stands here are built to furniture tolerances. Big Sight publishes detailed regulations — height limits by stand type, mandatory fire-retardant certification for materials, defined build-up and teardown windows, and rules about what may overhang your plot line. Applications go in early and are enforced. Our project management handles documentation and submission in Japanese, so approvals happen on schedule rather than at the venue.

Designing for a Japanese visitor

Japanese buyers approach a stand quietly and read before they engage. That makes printed and displayed information more important than in Western markets: clear technical panels, samples arranged for self-guided inspection, and a staffed but not aggressive counter. Bilingual graphics — Japanese primary, English secondary — signal that you intend to do business here rather than merely visit. If you have a Japanese distributor, their name on the stand does more work than any headline.

For a mid-October show, Japanese production and approvals should start by early August. Send your hall preference, stand size and product line; a 3D concept, local production quote and regulatory checklist follow within 24 hours.
