ACHEMA 2027 runs 14-18 June at Messe Frankfurt, organised by DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH. It is the world forum for chemical engineering and process industry, and it shares glasstec's basic constraint in a heavier form: what you are exhibiting may weigh more than the stand.

Floor loading and crane access decide the schedule

Pumps, valves, columns, filters, heat exchangers and skid-mounted units are not carried in by hand. They arrive on a lorry and go in on a forklift or through a crane slot, and both are booked — the venue allocates lifting windows during build-up, and a missed slot can mean waiting a day.

That reverses the usual build sequence. Normally the structure goes up and the exhibits come in. With heavy process equipment the exhibit is often placed first, and the stand is built around it. Know your heaviest piece, its footprint, its lifting points and its route into the hall before the layout is finalised. If the piece cannot turn a corner in the aisle, the layout is already wrong.

Show the inside, not the outside

A pump looks like a pump. Buyers at ACHEMA are specifying on materials, tolerances, seal design, service intervals and cost of ownership — none of which is visible on a painted casing. The stands that work here use cutaways, sectioned units, exploded assemblies and material samples so an engineer can see the thing they are actually buying.

That is a fabrication decision, not a graphic one, and it needs to be in the plan early enough for the cutaway to be prepared.

Why Turkish manufacturers are here

Turkey exports valves, pumps, fittings, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and stainless fabrication into European process industries. ACHEMA runs every three years, which makes it unusually high-stakes: a weak edition is not corrected next year but in 2030.

Our honest position on this fair

If your exhibit is a single heavy unit and your buyers already know your catalogue, a clean modular stand with good lighting and a proper meeting table is enough — the machine is the stand. Custom construction earns its cost when you need a cutaway wall, a sectioned display or a raised platform for a large skid. And if your piece is too heavy for the hall you were allocated, tell us early; that conversation is with the venue, not with the designer.
