embedded world 2027 runs 16-18 March at NurnbergMesse, organised by NurnbergMesse GmbH. It is the world's leading event for embedded systems, and it has a stand problem that almost no other fair has: everything on your stand is switched on at the same time.

Power density, then heat

A typical exhibition stand draws a few kilowatts for lighting and a coffee machine. An embedded world stand runs dozens of development boards, several screens, demo rigs, and often a rack — on a footprint that might be 20 square metres. The power order is routinely two or three times what a first-time exhibitor estimates, and it is ordered from the venue with a deadline.

Heat follows power. Enclosed demo pods and glazed cabinets that look excellent in a render become uncomfortable by mid-afternoon on day one, and warm boards behave differently from cool ones in front of a customer. Plan ventilation into any enclosed element, keep power supplies out of sealed voids, and give the rack its own airflow path.

The network is a separate order

Many demos need connectivity, and hall WiFi at embedded world is saturated by definition — every visitor and every stand is running something. If your demonstration depends on a live connection, order a wired line. Discovering on the morning of day one that your cloud demo cannot reach the cloud is a bad way to start three days.

Cable management is the visible part of your engineering

This audience reads a stand the way it reads a board layout. Visible cable chaos on a stand selling embedded reliability undercuts the pitch more effectively than any competitor could. Design cable routes into the furniture from the start: channels in the demo tables, entry points where boards actually sit, and enough slack for a live swap without dismantling anything.

Our honest position on this fair

If you are a component or tool vendor with a small footprint, a well-executed modular stand with excellent demo tables and clean cabling beats a custom build with poor power planning every time. Spend on the electrical design and the demo furniture. And if your demo does not need to be enclosed, do not enclose it — open demos run cooler and draw more engineers.
