ISH 2027 runs 15-19 March at Messe Frankfurt, organised by Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH. It is the world's leading trade fair for HVAC and water, and it has a technical requirement that catches more first-time exhibitors than any other German fair: live water.

The water and drainage order, not the stand order

ISH is a fair where products get demonstrated running. Taps run, showers run, boilers fire, heat pumps cycle. That means a fresh water connection, a drainage connection, and often a pressure specification — and all three are ordered from the venue's technical services on their own deadline, which closes well before the stand build begins.

Two things go wrong repeatedly. First, exhibitors assume the stand builder orders these; we can order them on your behalf but we need to know the demonstration plan months earlier, because the connection point determines where the wet zone sits and therefore the entire layout. Second, exhibitors under-specify — a single drain is fine for one tap and useless for a shower wall. Bring the demonstration plan to the first design meeting, even in rough form.

Wet zones change how the stand is built

A stand with running water is not a normal stand. The wet area needs a raised or tanked floor, a fall to the drain, splash protection on adjacent surfaces, and a service void big enough for a person to reach a leaking joint during show hours. Sockets move away from the wet zone. Storage cannot sit under the drain run.

None of this is exotic, but all of it is cheaper to design in than to retrofit. A layout that treats the wet zone as a feature from the first sketch usually ends up with more usable floor than one that adds it later.

Why Turkish manufacturers are here

Turkey is a substantial exporter of radiators, boilers, water heaters, taps, valves, fittings and sanitaryware, and much of that goes to Europe. ISH is where the European specification decisions get made — installers, wholesalers, planners and OEM buyers in the same halls for five days. The fair runs biennially in odd years.

Our honest position on this fair

If your product needs live water and you have never done it at ISH, the first conversation should be about the technical services order, not about design. We are happy to have that conversation and then tell you the stand can be simpler than you thought. And if you are exhibiting a catalogue rather than a working demonstration, skip the wet zone entirely — it consumes budget and floor area that a sample wall and a meeting table would use better.
