About the Project
Porland, Pioli's stand at EquipHotel Paris 2024, Europe's most comprehensive hotel equipment exhibition, stood out with its aesthetic design and functional layout. The brand's extensive product collection was showcased in a highly functional setup.
What this build had to solve
The fair
EquipHotel in Paris is a hospitality equipment fair rather than a consumer goods fair. The visitor is specifying a whole operation — kitchen, service, furniture — so tableware is judged as one component of a system, not as a product on its own.
The venue
Paris halls put equipment suppliers with heavy, tall exhibits alongside smaller product stands. Next to a stainless kitchen line a tableware stand disappears unless it holds its own light and its own colour rather than borrowing the hall's.
The sector
Porcelain tableware is bought by people who need to hold it. Buyers check weight, rim thickness, glaze and how a piece stacks, because those are what decide whether it survives a commercial kitchen. Any stand that puts the range behind glass has removed the only test the buyer actually trusts.
The build
Set as a dressed table rather than a shelf display, because a specifier reads a laid setting faster than a product wall — it answers what the room will look like, which is the actual question.
