Total Energies
COP29

About the Project
Total Energies' booth, located in the COP29 Green Zone, featured a functional meeting room and a welcoming area. The meeting room was customized and designed according to the brand's preferences. With its modular structure, the stand maximized functionality in a small space, ensuring efficient use throughout the event.
What this build had to solve
The fair
COP29 was the UNFCCC climate conference held in Baku in November 2024. A COP is not one exhibition but two very different environments: the Blue Zone, run by the UN and accessible only with UNFCCC accreditation, and the Green Zone, run by the host country and open to business and the public. This stand was in the Green Zone, which is where commercial brands can actually be seen.
The venue
An enclosed meeting room inside a temporary hall has two problems the drawing never shows: it needs its own air movement, and its walls have to stop conversation without being solid enough to need structural anchoring the venue will not allow.
The sector
For an energy major the Green Zone stand is primarily a meeting venue. The commercial value is in scheduled conversations, so the brief inverts the usual ratio: enclosed, acoustically separated meeting space takes priority and the open welcome area is sized to whatever is left.
The build
We built the meeting volume first and planned the welcome area around what was left, which is the opposite of the usual order. That way the part of the stand that generates the commercial value is not the part that gets compressed when the footprint tightens.
