How stall booking works at Aero India 2027

Exhibitor space booking opened on 3 September 2026 through the organiser, the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence. Two things about the process decide your show before design starts:

• •Hangar position follows booking order, not a lottery. Companies booking now choose from the full floorplan; companies booking in December choose from what is left. Space booking typically closes 4–5 months before the show — around October 2026 for February 2027.
• •The stand brief and the space booking are the same decision. A custom stand for a February install needs its design frozen by late October, because production in Istanbul and freight to Bengaluru have to fit inside the same window.

Which hangar will you be in?

Aero India's exhibition splits across nine hangars (A through I) plus the outdoor static display for full aircraft. Hangars A and B host the Indian Air Force and DRDO showcases; C, D and E house international OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers; F to I house SMEs and indigenous start-ups. The outdoor static display carries the Tejas, Sukhoi-30 MKI, Rafale and visiting demonstration aircraft. Which hangar you land in is a function of your category and your booking date — another reason the booking decision cannot wait for the stand decision.

Production and booking timeline — Istanbul to Bengaluru

For a turnkey custom stand to open on Day 1 (8 February 2027), the practical sequence: October 2026 — stall allocation confirmed; November–December 2026 — design brief, 3D concept and revisions (3-5 weeks); December 2026–January 2027 — production at the Istanbul facility (4-6 weeks); late January 2027 — sea or air freight to Bengaluru; early February 2027 — on-site assembly and technical sign-off; 8 February 2027 — show opens.

Starting later than November 2026 is possible but moves to an expedited timeline (15-25% premium) and narrows material and finish options.

Freight, carnet and visas

For Turkish and European defence companies the chain typically runs Istanbul to Bengaluru by sealed-container air freight (8-12 days transit) or sea freight via Mumbai (28-35 days transit plus truck to Bengaluru). ATA Carnet is accepted by India for temporary import. Visa: business visa or e-visa for Turkish nationals. Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) is 35 km from Yelahanka Air Force Station — typically 45-60 minutes.
