Sea Breeze - COP29

About the Project

The Sea Breeze's stand at COP29 stood out as one of the most unique in the Green Zone, thanks to its form, color, and natural planting. Designed with a natural landscape, the booth emphasized a sustainable approach. Digital screens and interactive model designs enhanced the user experience, creating an engaging environment for visitors. The stand was actively used for two weeks, with daily landscape maintenance and support provided.

What this build had to solve

The fair

COP29 was the UNFCCC climate conference held in Baku in November 2024. A COP is not one exhibition but two very different environments: the Blue Zone, run by the UN and accessible only with UNFCCC accreditation, and the Green Zone, run by the host country and open to business and the public. This stand was in the Green Zone, which is where commercial brands can actually be seen.

The venue

Live planting on a temporary floor is a load and a liability at once: soil is heavy, watering means a spill risk over cabling, and plants that die on day two undo the entire message. Positioning has to account for the venue's light, which in a covered Green Zone structure is almost never daylight.

The sector

A resort and real-estate developer at COP is selling a place, not a product. That makes planting, daylight and open form do the work that a product display would do elsewhere — the visitor has to feel the destination on the stand floor because there is nothing to hand them.

The build

Because the product is a destination, the stand had to be somewhere you would stand still. We kept sightlines long and the perimeter soft, so the space reads as somewhere to stay rather than a counter to pass.
